While you're accustomed to using Mercury or the Third House to represent neighbors, the German word, Nachbaur, means "Neighbor,"  and there's an asteroid, Nachbaur, #20288.  As March comes to a close, Nachbaur is nearing the end of its transit through Taurus.  By the end of April, it will have reached only 11 Gemini.  So if these degrees are close to your current Lunar Return angles, let me make some suggestions of how "neighborly" (or not!) events will be:

  • I'm using a chart for the end of March-- a L/R (Lunar Return) that boasts 27 Scorpio\Taurus angles so Nachbaur is one of the people-issues that will mark the time period.  Among other things, it describes a neighbor who is dealing with depression and cognitive decline --and, perhaps, memory loss.  This doesn't have to be the same neighbor- but it can be.  And since we brought this up: like so many things, depression is a risk factor for dementia...but we're not talking about just having a bad day now and then; it means serious depression.
  • Because Pandora is present in this late Taurus line-up, as is Ophelia, you're expecting the neighbor stuff to involve something unexpected to which reactions are exaggerated, and those inappropriate reactions may, in some way, be somewhat self-defeating.
  • The issues with Nachbaur go on to include Admetus, so there may be something about the neighbor's  land, foundation or rock on their property.  You may see some avoidance of a neighbor, shunning of a neighbor, or a small circle of people who are neighborly.  With Admetus, you also have to expect that there may be some moments of being aware of "having to endure" through the travails of a neighbor.  In other words, the neighbors gives an example of enduring some long-term difficulty.
  • In parans opposition (meaning at the opposite angle and constituting the relationship of an opposition--even if applying or separating,) there is a list of factors starting with the medical asteroid, Podalarius.  Like Aesculapia and some of the other medical asteroids, Podalarius alerts you to the relevance of a medical condition.  Of course, it will describe other things, but for the moment, we are focussed on the neighbor so, for now, we are hearing the chart bring up a neighbor's medical status.  With Podalarius retrograde, we expect some of the mentions to be about medical issues in the past.
  • Next is the asteroid, Melpomene; it refers to "a tragic situation," a situation that's very serious.  So far, we have "a serious and/or sad medical problem."
  • The chart next brings up another reference to depression and one to a history of heart problems.  (And, yep, heart problems are another risk factor for dementia.)
  • With the retrograde Lilith also in this alignment, you can be aware of DECISIONS regarding medical care, but you can also note rivalries (among neighbors) or people expecting or needing special treatment-- because of their medical condition.
  • One way to think of the Melpomene-Lilith is: how is it that some people seem to get chosen to have tragic lives or tragic occurrences in their lives?  And, can you think of decisions that people make that lead to tragedy?
  • Next we have the asteroid, Atlantis-- also retrograde.  So, again, just thinking about our neighbor, the Atlantis can represent privacy concerns and water problems.  (Because we have the medical-health asteroid with Atlantis, yes, we think of people having negative projections about their diagnosis and prognosis, but I was recently reading about "black mold" as a health problem.  And it can get started when certain building materials get and stay wet.  So there we have Atlantis\Admetus-- flooding or leaking that stays wet, or water in the foundation.)
  • Think also of a picture of Nachbaur-Admetus\Atlantis, and another delineation of that would be that a neighbor avoids others in order to guard privacy.
  • The late Scorpio angle includes transiting Saturn in its angular scope.  As you add it you think, "Ah, a Nachbaur\Saturn could be "an elderly or older neighbor."  It's also a neighbor having problems.  There may be mention of a neighbor's career or reputation.  At another time, there can be a neighbor's role as a father.
  • And just Saturn is the asteroid, Child.  So there is something about "being the father of a child."  Now go back through other angular factors so that you have little stories such as Child/Podalarius-Melpomene = Nachbaur: a neighbor's child dealt with a medical tragedy.
  • This reminds you that angular factors are "talking to each other."  Maybe you pick up the asteroid, Melancholia, in 25 Scorpio, Rx.  So you string together the idea that there is depression that might be related to a (Melpomene) tragedy that befell a (Child) child-- of any age.  Maybe you grab the medical asteroid and listen to what it would be saying to Saturn: it talks about ailments of aging and those that create limitations; it can refer to health problems with the bones, teeth, skin or gallbladder.
  • Maybe you grab the Podalarius and stick it next to Atlantis and, not only are there negative projections about one's health and those "water issues," but a person can be sensitive about the privacy of their medical condition... and this can include attempts to mask that memory loss or cognitive decline we found.  Keep in mind that with the Ophelia conjunct Nachbaur, our neighbor is apt to have inappropriate reactions.
  • There are other asteroids that can add detail (such as Diana and Minerva,) but you have to plug in your radix factors to add to the information.  For instance, you may have the radix TNP, Kronos, angular at the Descendant.  Is our Franke-Nachbaur: neighbor with cognitive decline or dementia, fearing loss of competency?  Is there some legal or police involvement?  Are there issues with following rules... and do those issues include something about (Admetus) land or delays?
  • As you can hear, each of the angular energies will find ways to "make conversation" with other angulars and with other angular combinations.  Once you've drawn up the chart, sit back and listen!  Know that some of those conversations will be played for you in the news or in television programs you watch.
