Someone asked me about chart Houses. While House systems have been proposed for 90* dial use, asteroids provide a different kind of answer. For instance, instead of using the Sixth and Twelfth Houses for medical information, check the aspect patterns of the regular medical asteroids: Aesculapia, Asclepius, Askalaphus, Hippocrates and Podalarius. Some current examples:
1 Podalarius is currently square Astraea and Neptune. As well as concern about medical issues that involve the eyes, there is the indication here that medical problems will not easily resolve and recovery may be delayed or incomplete; the immune system is struggling.
2 The pattern is more complicated than this, but Asclepius in 05 Libra is configured with points such as the TNP, Cupido, and the asteroids Ophelia and Orpheus. The suggestion here is that there is concern about the health of a family member or partner. There may be consideration of congenital medical conditions, and these could include those of the autoimmune diseases. The presence of Ophelia can also suggest that the patient or the family or partner is/are overreacting to a diagnosis. Still, with the medical asteroid and Orpheus, there can be depression or concern re the potential for an illness to be terminal.
3 With Aesculapia, Rx opposing the TNP, Hades, from 12 Cp, if this is highlighted in a chart, there is concern about the impact of viral or bacterial infections. There may be nausea or lower intestinal problems. Hades too can summon depression over the health. It can also cause mistakes to be made with diagnosis or treatment. Prior medical conditions are likely relevant.
4 The opposition of Hippokrates, now in 22 Taurus, to Proserpina can cause times where a medical condition causes a person to feel Alone and very much Apart from others.
5 That Hippokrates is applying to an octile to Eros so there would be interest in the health re hormonal, cardiac or reproductive organ issues. (You would then want to check the two quadratures for further detail. )
As well as these examples, a number of other asteroids refer to medical things. For example, a medical asteroid with Tantalus can indicate a medical test. Malpighi brings up concerns about the lungs. Harvey also directs attention to hormones and blood circulation—-so imagine the effect of an Admetus aspect! The asteroid, Virchow, speaks of pathology or abnormality re aspecting points. Something like a Terpsichore\Icarus can be a fall. Toro with Eros can call attention to heart muscles.
You would be evaluating the indications in the axes of The Personal Points. Checking the angles of current Return Charts and the patterns of the year’s eclipses is also a great way to see how this works.
