If you are a new subscriber to the Research Access areas or are wondering what it’s all about, let me give you a sense of it. There are four areas that you can use: Aspects, Medical, Mundane and Orders. Each one gives you access to a huge amount of information. For example, there are more than 4000 aspect delineations and more than 2000 factors to use for medical conditions. The Mundane area has factors to use for regular and crime charts. And you can look up things with just a word or phrase.
Then there is the Orders section. In case you don’t have my text, “The Orders of Light,” let me give a brief scan of what Orders are all about. You start with your solar or lunar returns, both the Tropical and the Sidereal. You draw them with the return chart angles (skip that whole each House lines thing). Then you enter just the “angular” points both radix and transit. And by “angular” here, that means that they’re within 10 degrees, either side of an angle. (Lots of examples of this are shown in the book.) Deep angulars behind the angle can have less relevance.
Then you let the angular energies “talk to” and impact the others. Once you see how this goes, you will definitely want to try it with your returns. Let me give you some examples. Suppose one of your returns has Poseidon at an IC with Orpheus and Kronos at the MC. The asteroid Weill is at the DSC and Handley is at the Ascendant. So it’s IC\MC - DSC = ASC. Among your interpretations would be: “The media is covering the death of a celebrity or official who died of cancer.” See how it works? Let me give you some more examples and there are plenty more in the book and available in Research Access.
ASC x Vulcanus, Rx\Kalypso - Uranus = Juno x Zeus x Bacchus. (Vulcanus at the Ascendant; Kalypso at the DSC, Uranus at the IC with the conjunctions of Juno, Zeus and Bacchus at the MC. Can you see how to move from angle to angle?). Delineation: I feel some pressure to conceal the tension and outbreaks caused by my partner’s anger and volatility from drinking.
ASC x Lilith, Rx\Aesculapia - Nemesis x Neptune = Pythia x Hades, Rx: When trying to make decisions about a medical matter, there can be uncertainty about the cause so that projection about the outcome or progression is likely not correct.
Mercury x Carr\Ophelia x Virchow - Collins = Hades x Weseley: The reading of (Carr) an MRI exaggerated the abnormality so that the report of (Collins) lung cancer was a mistake, a misdiagnosis.
ASC\Erb - Harvey = Mnemosyne x Zeus: His experience of (Erb) ALS and how it affected his ability to cope was that the change in hormonal balance affected his memory and ability to respond to stress.
So some of these are complicated examples. Start with the angulars on your current returns and practice the delineations as you see the things that resonate with you. They can be minor; they can be a conversation or something you see on the internet. The idea is to see how very precise astrology can be. So do things like: ASC\DSC - MC = IC or MC\IC - DSC = ASC.
As you become accustomed to the technique, you can certainly add information from the natal Houses that are brought to the Return angles. For example, what would you expect when your natal 7th House is brought to a return chart Ascendant? What about when your natal 6th House is at the Ascendant of your Tropical or Sidereal (Precessed) Return?
Return charts and Orders are a great way to see the impact of people and ideas and to learn all the ways energies can manifest. Oh…and yeah…it’s a great predictive method (once you get used to delineating the angular points!)
And…once you’re well able to work with “an order,” use your skills to consider the 4 “angles” as dial axis points and delineate them for very detailed information. Let me give you an example that is all but mind-blowing. Consider this researched information by cancer specialists: “Cutting off or restricting blood flow accelerates cancer growth by prematurely aging bone marrow and weakening the immune system.” If you’ve worked with the medical asteroids, you know to consider Harvey for blood circulation and Handley is one point to use for cancer. Among points to use for the Immune System is Ehrlich, and you could use Bartolini for Bone Marrow. In a chart where the young man had a GBM (Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor and this would be Scherer,) this was a four point dial axis: Harvey x Pluto, Rx\Handley x Psyche x Virchow x MC x Bartolini - Ehrlich = Scherer!
