If you're a Tools of the Trade subscriber, you just received the March 2018
issue featuring the chart of Violette Szabo. Among the fascinating things
about her chart (born June 26, 1921) was the close but out-of-sign
conjunction of Virchow in 29 Pisces and Hades in 00 Aries. (Actually, the
asteroid, Child was in 29 Sag and this reflected the difficulty due to
(Hades) poverty in her early life where she lived with relatives while her
parents moved to England to find work.) If you're not familiar with the
term The Aries Point, it refers to 00 degrees of the Cardinal signs and,
among the things that are important about it, is the way that it reflects
public sensibility, public opinion and, in a way, "the state of the outer
world" (as seen through the eyes of the individual.) It's also about how
one adapts to and operates in the public arena. So here was Violette. She
came of age as the Second World War was starting. She then saw the world as
a different kind of Virchow-Hades. Virchow indicates "a pathology." Now
add the Hades where there is decline, criminality, potential evil, attempts
to demean and awareness of social class. This would be one way to describe
the Hitler era that fed World War II.

So what about today's Aries Axis? And when we speak of the Aries AXIS, we
include octile and sesquiquadrate factors, but also those at "quadratures"
(1/4 of the dial or 22:30 degrees.) These days, the TNP, Cupido, is in 29
Sag. So it is to be delineated as part of the Aries Point mentality. Where
Cupido represents family and relationship and harmony, we are seeing
dramatic events re male-female relationships and we live in times where
there are such (political) "cliques" and such divisiveness that there is
little harmony. Cupido is also "the arts" and we see celebrities, members
of the arts, making great effort to affect (Aries Point) public opinion and
sentiment.

Our Times are also being shaped by having Pluto and the TNP, Zeus, applying
to the quadrature around 22* Cardinal. Let me mention a few of the ways you
might recognize the effectiveness of both The Aries Axis and the applying
aspect:

1. Pluto stands for "the masses" and Zeus is for guns and other weapons,
thus, this is an era of "mass shootings" (= Aries-> and how that affects
public opinion, families and fractures in the harmony of people.

2. If you take Pluto as "control," add Zeus = Aries and you have public
issues about "gun control."

3. Taking Pluto as "power" and adding the volatility of Zeus, you have
"people in power who are very volatile"-- Hello President Trump and the Dear
Leader of North Korea. In this square, you have (Zeus) military (Pluto)
might and power. You have (Pluto) very powerful (Zeus) weapons--be they
guns or explosives. (So you are also thinking about Iran and Syria.)

4. You also have (Pluto) massive (Zeus) plans... and I mean, Yuuuge! (Is
that what President Trump says? Speaking of him, and I don't want to get
political here, but... did you know that his radix chart holds
Jupiter-Nemesis = the asteroid Poseidon? One delineation of that would be
that "He benefits from blaming the media." Sometimes charts are cute and
have a magnificent sense of humor!)

5. The Pluto\Zeus speaks of control by the military and the idea that
exciteability and accomplishment result in power and control.

6. So if you think of Zeus as edgy and creative and often angry, you only
have to remember we live in a Twitter world to see how much power that has.
Zeus can incite, excite and inflame. They can be doing it from and for
Pluto. So there is a reach for power, attempts to expose another's
weaknesses or prick their psychological gltiches-- in other words, there are
times when the effort is just to "mess with" a person = The Aries Point: and
to thereby influence public opinion (of them or a particular issue.)

As well as the 4 positions of the axis, we also include in the pattern what
we call The Golden Triangle. In this case, where we start from 00*
Cardinal, we look to 00* of the other two Modes, Fixed and Mutable. These
days, we have Vulcanus in 29 Cancer and Admetus in 29 Taurus-- and these
also indicate the mood of the public. So we can state this as
Vulcanus/Admetus = Aries x Cupido = Zeus\Pluto. And we see Vulcanus, in one
way, as pressure, as an attempt to influence (the public.) But then Admetus
steps into the fray and is resistant, obstinant. So, yeah, we get the
challenged harmony at Cupido and then the whole power trip at the
Pluto-Zeus.

You can easily see all this in the public discourse, but if you have radix
or directed points in the Aries Axis, you're seeing in on a more personal
level too.

If you haven't been watching transits pass The Aries Axis, maybe these few
examples will be enough to encourage you to do so--? Transits will often
characterize those who support or challenge the main themes of the Aries
Axis.

What did Charles Dickens say? "It was the best of times, it was the worst
of times." "The Times" are shown by The Aries Axis!
